1. What We Collect

  • Account info — email address from your Apple or Google account when you sign in.
  • Birth details — date, time (optional), and city of birth. Used solely for astrology chart calculations.
  • Location coordinates — derived from your birth city for chart accuracy. Encrypted with AES-256 at rest.
  • Device & usage data — device type, browser, anonymized IP hash (SHA-256). We never store your raw IP address.
  • Questions & readings — the questions you ask and AI-generated responses are stored to provide your reading history.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to power your personalized astrology experience — calculating natal charts, running our Rule Engine, generating AI guidance, and maintaining your reading history. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside the SoulKin service.

3. Data Security

Sensitive fields (birth coordinates, NFC identifiers) are encrypted with AES-256. Sessions are managed through HttpOnly cookies. All database access is governed by Row Level Security (RLS) ensuring you can only access your own data. Communication happens over HTTPS.

4. We Never Sell Your Data

Your cosmic data is encrypted and will never be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate SoulKin:

  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication.
  • Google Gemini AI — generates your astrology guidance text. Your questions are sent to Google's AI model.
  • AstroAPI.io — calculates astronomical positions for your natal chart.
  • Geoapify — converts your birth city name to coordinates.
  • Vercel — hosts the application.

Each provider operates under their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

6. Cookies

We use a single functional cookie (soulkin_sid) to remember your crystal bracelet connection. This is an HttpOnly cookie — it cannot be read by JavaScript and is used solely for session management. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.

7. Your Rights

  • Access — view all data associated with your account through the app.
  • Deletion — request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
  • Correction — update your profile information at any time.

8. Children

SoulKin is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
